On April 04, 2007 at 1627 hours Sussex E.O.C. alerted Station 6- Stand by crew for a reported structure fire at Carvel Garden Apts. in Laurel, DE. Rescue Engine 604 responded with Captain Tyler. Upon the arrival of B-81 & R-604, Captain Tyler established Carvel Gardens Command. Interior crews found light smoke conditions upon entering the apt. Crews found the cause of the smoke to be from a burning pot holder left on the stove. A positive pressure fan was used to remove smoke. All units cleared the scene, at approx. 1640 hours.
